The below was sent in a separate email to several board members but wanted to be sure it was viewed via this method also:

My comments are in regard to the proposal to allow electric instruments into the club. I believe this is a bad idea. I believe the original intent is to allow electric basses. My concern lies in the old adage, let a camel get his nose into the tent and the next thing you know he will be entirely in the tent. A basic tenant of Bluegrass it the acoustic instrument. If we deviate on this fundamental precept, how long will it be before we see Fender guitars, keyboards and then drum sets. We will then no longer be a Bluegrass Club but instead a country and western club. I for one will no longer be a member.

I hope you advertise your intent in the newsletter and announce when there will be a membership vote. Even though I am a member I have never attended a membership meeting or voted but be assured I will be there for this vote. I would honestly prefer to be jamming in a back room but this is too important to pass up.

Just my opinion but I have heard others express these same concerns.
