Jerry "Liberty" Justice, 72, of Raytown, MO "caught the Westbound" April 23, 2008.

Deryle Cline...we'll miss him greatly.

Deryle Cline passed away Friday evening (April 4). There was a visitation at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave, Kansas City, KS, on Monday evening (April 7) from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial service was Tuesday (April 8) at 1:00 pm at the First Christian Church in Buffalo, MO.

]]> Some of the bluegrassers paid tribute to Deryle by presenting a single white rose, in memory of his song, "Just A White Rose Will Do".
Some of you, I know, were not in the HABOT club while Deryle served as president, but he served during a 15 year period. He was a great guy and a wonderful ambassador to bluegrass music. I've known him since 1980, and will miss him greatly.

Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike in October

Friday, October 31, Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike will be stopping nearby on their way to Minnesota.
They will be at the Gower Goodtimers that night doing their thing.
The Goodtimers said there won't be any jamming, or open mike.
It will all be given to Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike to perform.
No admission!!!! But donations are accepted.

George Argeropoulos - (was) In Hospital

George is our "kitchen boss" at HABOT. He and Ron serve up our food at the club. Hey Everybody, This is George's son; Paul Argeropoulos. My dad is in the hospital (North Kansas City; Room #635) with his congestive heart failure. Mom took him to the ER yesterday when his breathing became laborious. Please lift him up in your prayers!!!!!
He gets so lonely in the hospital.......Could a couple of you please give him a call.......816-691-1635 (That would mean the world to him) or you can go to the hospital web site (www.nkch.org) and email a greeting that will be delivered to his room.

1935-2007
LATHROP, Mo. - Charles Dempsey "Charlie" Hardin, 72, Lathrop, passed away Dec. 29, 2007, at home
Charlie was born July 6, 1935, in Pottersville, Mo., the son of Leo and Eva Hardin. He graduated from the Willow Springs High School and later received his undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Missouri at Columbia. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Japan following the Korean War. Charlie was a respected educator and principal in the Hallsville, Sturgeon and Maryville, Mo., schools before retirement. Charlie leaves his wife, Barbara; children, David Hardin (Renee), Curtis Hardin, Rita Thompson (Kevin), Jill Bergee (Martin) and Betty Davis (Justin). He also leaves his sister, Darleen Nave (J.D.); four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Charlie was a licensed pilot. He also loved playing and singing bluegrass music, especially gospel, and served as vice president of HABOT.

Admission is FREE but donations for the hall rental are requested. There are usually 3-4 bands scheduled to perform on stage with numerous jam sessions in all rooms throughout the facility.
